Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project Update

Construction Details
Underground work on installation of water, storm and sanitary facilities continues along 101 St. from north of 100 Ave. to south of 103 Ave.

Surface work commenced on 101 St. between 99 Ave. and 100 Ave. began on Monday, June 12. This work consists of streetscape and sidewalk work including conduit, paving stone, trees and irrigation line installations. Work starts on the west sidewalk and once complete moves to the east side.

Surface removals in preparation for underground work on 101 Ave. between 100 St. and 101 St. commences Thursday, June 15.

Traffic Accommodation
101 St. from north of 100 Ave. to south of 103 Ave. is currently closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Local traffic is currently permitted on 101 Ave. and 102 Ave.

Effective Monday, June 12, an additional road closure takes place on 101 St. between 99 Ave. and 100 Ave.

Effective Thursday, June 15, 101 Ave. between 100 St. and 101 St. is closing completely to vehicular traffic and parking.

Pedestrian Access
Pedestrian access is being maintained along the west side of 101 St. from 100 Ave. to 103 Ave.

Pedestrian crossings are scheduled to be available at 101 Ave. and potentially 102 Ave. They may be temporarily closed periodically throughout this time to accommodate construction work.

As surface work recommences on 101 St. between 99 Ave. and 100 Ave., pedestrian access remains available on the east side as work is completed on the west side.

With the 101 Ave. closure, pedestrians will be permitted on both sides of the road between 100 St. and 101 St. The north sidewalk may be closed at locations along 101 Ave, however the contractor will install detours or alternative accesses/walkways.

For More Information
Visit cityofgp.com/ourdowntown for more details on the project and to sign up to receive weekly e-newsletter updates on the project.

All downtown businesses remain open during construction.
