INWED17: Just over a week to go!
Top 50 Women in Engineering under 35

The Telegraph, in partnership with WES, and sponsors Scottish Power,  Bechtel and BAE Systems
will be announcing the Top 50 Women in Engineering under 35 (WE50), on International Women in Engineering Day  in a supplement to the Telegraph national newspaper.

There were well over 500 nominations and the quality was very high, making it difficult for the judges to choose the Top 50 list. For more information about the WE50, keep an eye on the INWED website, where we will be releasing their names on 23 June.

INWED 2017 Events

Holding an event and can't find it on our page? Email the details, including the location and brief description of the event to Jemma at [email protected].

Our list of world-wide events keeps on growing, with activities now listed in Spain, America, Canada, Brazil and Peru and our National map is almost covered in events!

In addition to other INWED events taking place around the world, WES will be celebrating through our own events too. We will be holding a Breakfast Roundtable in partnership with Colas at the House of Commons and look forward to updating you on what promises to be a thought-provoking session. We are also hosting an afternoon tea event to celebrate INWED focusing on the Top 50 Women in Engineering under 35 (WE50) who will be announced on the day in a supplement to the Telegraph national newspaper. The Telegraph will host its celebration for the WE50 at an awards dinner in the City of London for the winners and sponsors Scottish Power, Bechtel and BAE Systems.

The above events are invitation only but we look forward to sharing our celebrations with you via social media on the day (#INWED17, #MenAsAllies) together with a round-up of events after 23 June.

We hope you will share your successes too, so please do send details of your events, plus photographs, videos, feedback, quotes and any press coverage by emailing [email protected]

Don't forget, you can find out if something is happening in your area by looking at our  Events Map and Listings page.
Film Release

The Royal Academy of Engineering, one of the sponsors of INWED17, is marking the day with a film that profiles five young women engineers from Mozambique, Uganda, Palestine, Germany and the UK.

All five of these role models featured in the film have been actively involved in the Academy's activities and have followed varied routes into their careers in STEM. Focusing on the INWED theme of 'men as allies', the film will also highlight the important role that men can play to help improve gender diversity in engineering.

The film will be available from 23 June at www.raeng.org.uk
