AHHE's 17th Annual Healthcare Diversity Awards occurred on June 22nd, 2017, at the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM). We thank our sponsors and partners for their support and paving the way for mentoring healthcare leadership talent!
Highlights of the evening included President of the New York Academy of Medicine, Jo Ivey Boufford, M.D., receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. Unitex, received the Corporation of the Year Award and Ramon Soto from Northwell Health received the Healthcare Executive of the Year. Lee H. Perlman, President of GNYHA Ventures, also spoke on why he loves AHHE. We look forward to seeing you next year!
AHHE joins in standing against the Senate's version of a healthcare bill known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), released by Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Amongst cutting funds for Medicaid and many people losing their insurance, this bill includes other concerns such as permanently excluding abortion coverage from health plans on the marketplace. This bill will be depriving many people in underrepresented communities access to affordable and comprehensive health services.
