Thank You from Pat Raby
I received the cards you left for me and have received so many more cards from Church members.
I want to thank you and my church family for all of the cards and prayers I have received this past month. I appreciate all of the thoughtfulness.
I have been taking scans for a couple of years and the last one in April was not a good outcome. I did have cancer in the one mass and the other mass was clear. I have been in very good care and thanking
God every minute for my blessings
Again thanking all of my Church family for their love. Cards and prayers
In Gods love

Blessing Box Donations
We are very excited to announce that we now have a blessing box set up outside our church on the Gage lawn. The blessing box has been filled with various
non-perishable food items as well as a few hygiene items. We are excited to begin this program. The box is open to anyone to take what they need and to give anything extra that they have for someone else who might be in need.
In order to help keep the box full, there will be a box in the narthex for donation items such as non-perishable food items as well as hygiene products.

|
Lost and Found
If anyone is missing any personal items please stop by our office and see if any of your items are on our front counter or in our lost and found box in Fellowship Hall. We have quite a few drinking cups as well as a leather Bible in our office currently.
Thank you!

Kitchen Policy
Due to having limited refrigerator space in our kitchen we have implemented a new policy regarding leftover food. If anyone or any group uses the church kitchen and finds that they have leftover food at the end of their event, we ask that you please either take the leftovers home or throw them away. We do not have the space to accommodate any leftovers. Furthermore, our Child Care Center is required by law to stick to their designated meal plan, so they are unable to use any leftovers
as well.

Wheelchair Available
There is now a wheelchair available in the closet of Unity Hall, if needed for use during service.

Time: Your own
Ages: All are welcome.
Location: Books must be checked out from the church library to qualify.
Prizes: Lunch with a minister
Rules: The person who checks out and reads the most books from the church library each month will be declared the winner. There will be a sign up sheet in the library to register. Books must be checked out by signing the card on the inside of the book and leaving it in the basket! Simple. Simple.
Each month the winner will be announced in the church paper. June’s winner dines with Paxton. July’s winner enjoys the company of Donna while the winner in August will be joining Connie for lunch!
Here are just a few teasers to get you started.
THE LITTLE PARIS BOOKSHELF by Nina George
A floating bookstore on a barge on the Seine, Monsieur Perdu is like a literary apothecary prescribing novels for all the hardships of life. His story and that of others takes you on a healing journey to the south of France.
The New York Times Review says this book is a love letter to books.
THE GIFT OF YEARS Growing Old Gracefully by Joan Chittister
This spiritual writer shows us how this is a special period of life that give us wisdom, freedom and prosperity of another kind. It describes what happens as old relationships disappear in favor of many new people and challenges that take their place. These are the capstone years that mark a whole new life in the making.
A LIGHT IN THE WINDOW by Jan Karon
Life in a small town is rarely quiet and never boring as the main character discovers. His neighbors and Cousin Meg all are involved in this bachelor’s need for divine intervention. This is the second novel in the Milford series.
These descriptions are taken from the writings of each book and do not reflect any opinion of the church. They were selected to showcase the wide variety of books available in the church library waiting for you.
Enjoy!
Please consider joining the library committee. We want you!
Welcome Sandi Reesor to the committee.

Did you know that First Christian Church has a unique AmazonSmile link that makes it easier for people to find and support your organization?
What is my organization's unique link?
http://smile.amazon.com/ch/48-0554328
What does my unique link do?
When customers click on your organization's unique link, they skip the process to search for a charity to support among over 1 million eligible charities. Instead, they're taken to
smile.amazon.com
and are automatically asked if they want to support First Christian Church.
Can I just tell supporters to search for my charity at smile.amazon.com?
Yes. However, that makes it harder for your supporters to find and select your organization. There are over 1 million eligible charities, and customers may end up picking a different organization during the selection process. Sharing your charity link increases the likelihood that customers will select your charity before they start shopping.
Do my supporters have to click on my charity's AmazonSmile link every time they shop?
No. Once customers select your organization, you will receive 0.5% of the price of all their eligible
smile.amazon.com
purchases, regardless of whether they use your unique AmazonSmile link to return to the site. However, we recommend that you ask your supporters to bookmark and use your link so they don't accidentally shop at www.
amazon.com
instead of
smile.amazon.com
. Only purchases made at
smile.amazon.com
are eligible for donations.
What do customers that have already selected a charity see when they click on my organization's unique link?
If someone is already supporting your organization and they click on your unique link, they will simply be taken to
smile.amazon.com
so they can start shopping. They do not have to re-select your charity. If someone supporting a different charity clicks on your charity link, they are asked if they'd like to switch to support your organization.

Prayer Concerns
We invite you to use the following prayer or one of your own desire as you offer prayers for those listed in our prayer concerns.
O God, source of love and compassion in the sufferings of all your children, we offer our compassion also for the hungry, and the sick in body, mind, or heart, the depressed and the lonely, all living in fear and under stress, all stricken with grief, the unemployed and the rejected, and those burning with hatred. Strengthen us to work for their healing and inspire us to build with you the kingdom of love where none shall cause suffering to others and all be caring, loving children of yours. Our compassionate, all-embracing God, ever present, ever love, never failing, we pray to you. Amen. (Adapted from Chalice Worship #363 p. 343).

Technology Update
If you see a blank in the technology (sound, lights or power point) list on Sunday morning, that means there is no one assigned to that task on that Sunday. So your help is needed to fill these places. There is a small amount of training you would need, but anyone can learn. For assistance in learning to support the Technology Ministry please contact Vern Failor at 272-6102 or vlfailor@gmail.com
