This Sunday at Christ Church
Summer Park Service
Starts This Weekend June 18

During the summer months, we worship at 9:30 in Maple Street Park.  Starting this Sunday, June 18,  and running through September 3, we will gather the way Jesus did with his first followers:  on the grass near a lake.  We hope you'll come come in casual summer wear and join us for communion with nature, each other, and God.  Dogs are also welcome!!!!

Click HERE for a Park Service Primer that will ensure a great experience.

In case of inclement weather, the 9:30AM service will be held at the Church on the Hill, 784 Sheridan Rd.

Beach Blanket Ministry Starts June 18
During the first part of the 9:30AM service at the park we offer a program for children with songs, stories and activities. Please have your children join Melissa Durbin and Elizabeth Clemmitt on the brightly colored beach blankets.  We re-join everyone at the Peace.
Parish News
Announcing Vacation Bible Study...for adults! (Childcare provided.)
This summer, while  most of the weekly study and prayer groups are on hiatus, we're trying something new! For 4 Thursdays (June 15, 22, 29, and July  6), we'll gather in the McClain Room from 9:30-11:00AM for bible study. Our theme? Sabbath-keeping: what does (and doesn't) Sabbath mean? What does scripture say about it? How do we honor God in it, and how does God honor us?

All are welcome. Come when you can. No advance preparation required. The church nursery will be open and staffed starting at 9:00AM....parents of little ones need bible
study too! Questions? Email Nadia.
Planting Day At Grace House!
The weather was picture perfect on Tuesday, June 6 for Planting Day at Grace House.

Holly Christian, Grace House Program Director, greeted Christ Church mentors and volunteers. Together with residents, we enjoyed breakfast on the front porch - and then got to work!

After saying a prayer together for good planting and harvest, residents and mentors planted kale, swiss chard, onions, collard greens, tomatoes, cabbage, rosemary, basil, thyme, and a variety of flowers.

Two Grace House residents have been selected as "garden supervisors" and will work over the summer to maintain the plantings.

A huge thank you to those who provided sweat equity and financial support for this endeavor: Phil Adams, Robin Anstaett, Mary Baillos, Sherry Gormanous, Paula Grasso, Mary Jo LaViolette, Suzie Peregrine, Christine Peterson, Carolyn Potter, Charlotte Robertson, Debbie Ross, and Carmen Wilcox.
