THE DFTA DISPATCH
Food for Thought and Thought for Food

Letter from the National Coordinator
Dear Members and Supporters,

Summer can have different meanings to the diverse set of stakeholders throughout the agricultural supply chain.  For the DFTA, it means continuing our work to bring together diverse businesses and organizations.

In the Spring, we hosted a #FairTradeDay Festival in Brooklyn, NY with the NYC Fair Trade Coalition, including fair trade vendors, live music, and a panel discussion.  Photos here for anyone who missed it!

This past weekend we were at the Eastern Conference for Workplace Democracy discussing equitable supply chains with Maggie's Organics, the Corbin Hill Food Project, and the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance.  More on our workshop is here.

As summer officially begins, we'll continue to connect stakeholders and bring people together to work on issues related to domestic fair trade.  See below for our upcoming Fair Food Solstice Happy Hour in Minneapolis, our Birthday Fun(d) Raiser in Brooklyn, and updates on our conference in December.  Stay engaged and join us at one of our events!

Sincerely,

Erika A. Inwald
National Coordinator

P.S. The 3rd Annual Northeast Gathering on Domestic Fair Trade hosted by NOFA will be on Friday, August 11th from 8:30am-12pm in Amherst, MA.   More info on that here!
