Dean's Lists, College Graduations, and More!
Josh Dowling-Fitzpatrick '08, a 2013 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and service selected Naval Aviator, was promoted to Navy Lieutenant, (O-3) on May 24, 2017. In addition he earned the designation of Aviation Safety Officer, (ASO). He completed his final flight event for the designation of Electronic Warfare Aircraft Commander, (EWAC), having previously completed a lengthy six hour exam/interrogation. Josh is stationed on the west coast and is now designated as one of a number of Pilot 1s for his squadron.
Abigail Svitana '13 graduated from John Carroll University on May 21, 2017 with a degree in International Business with Language & Culture. She was also named to the Spring 2017 Dean's List.
Todd D'Andrea '04 and Antonio Romanelli '16 both earned
Ohio Wesleyan University Dean's List recognition by earning a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.
Ben Dumm '14 was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester at Grove City College.
Rebecca Dowling-Fitzpatrick '12 graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology on May 20, 2017. Becca was accepted to RIT as a deaf student with a profound 90 percent hearing loss in both ears, and was accepted into the mainstreamed program. Upon graduation Becca received a BFA in Interior Design with minors in Sociology and Urban Studies.
Wittenberg University hosted its 167th Commencement exercises on May 13 with SFD alumni Megan Gerrity '13 (Psychology) and Nathan Yoder '13 (Education) graduating with WU's Class of 2017.
Congratulations to Joe Braun '16 (Finance) for making the President's List at Miami University. Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2016-17 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence. Six other Stallions made the Dean's List at Miami University, ranking in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2016-17: Stephen Ganobsik '13 (Finance), Amy Shomo '13 (Nutrition), Kendall Witt '14 (Kinesiology/Pre-Med), Alaina Fliotsos '14 (Marketing/Fashion), Kathleen Cavanagh '15 (Special Education), and Andrea Coffey '16 (Political Science). Congratulations to these alumni who received their degrees at Miami University's Spring Commencement: Stephen Ganobsik '13 (Finance), Amy Shomo '13 (Nutrition), Meredith Lloyd '13 (Chemical Engineering), Savanna Osborn '13 (Psychology), and Kate Miltko '13 (Kinesiology).
Cayla Lawson '16 and Madeline Svitana '15 were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester at Baldwin Wallace University; they both received at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester to earn this recognition.
Capital University announced that Drew Selegue '15 was among its Provost's List honorees for the Spring 2017 semester. Monica Billings '16 made Capital University Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester, and Paige Gastaldo '13 was named a President's List honoree for the Spring 2017 semester. Congratulations to Paige and classmate Gabriella Black '13 for graduating this past May from Capital University.
Nearly 1,400 undergraduates received their degrees from the University of Dayton during the spring commencement ceremony including SFD alumni Sarah Schockling '13 (Pre-Med), Lauren Asman '13 (Biology), Michelle Seiffert '13 (Business), and Nicholas Hancart '13. The following Stallions at the University of Dayton also made the Dean's List for achieving a minimum 3.5 GPA for the Spring 2017 semester: Natalia Iannarino '15 (Dietetics), Sarah Schockling '13 (Pre-Med), Lauren Asman '13 (Biology), Dante Pezzutti '14 (Pre-Med), Michelle Seiffert '13 (Business), William Yinger '14, Rachel Putnam '14, Isabelle Connolly '15 (Pre-Physical Therapy), Emma Clark '15 (Biology), Kayla Rhea-Bouscher '15 (Biology), Drake Yinger '16, Jonathon Desiderio '16, Kyle Ransom '16, Julia Brown '16, and Kaelin Kelly '16. A special shout-out to University of Dayton pre-medicine major Dante Pezzutti '14 who is one of 24 students globally to receive an international fellowship award and stipend to perform scientific research this summer.
