Springfield Ballet Company kicked off its 2017-2018 season with our annual Summer Outreach Tour, June 12-16!

Dancers performed at facilities all over the Springfield community, including senior centers, long-term care facilities, Project SCOPE, The Hope Institute and many more!

The Summer Outreach Tour allows the SBC to bring the art of dance to audiences who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend SBC productions. In addition to the entertainment the SBC brings to these facilities and their residents, the tour is a valuable civic experience for the young dancers in the SBC.

Congratulations to SBC Administrative Director Sally Hamilton for being a finalist for  The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Not-For-Profit Business Director of the Year!

SBC congratulates all the nominees for this prestigious award, especially Keith Wetherell with Illinois Amvets who was this year's recipient.

We are so grateful to have Sally on our staff. Her talents and expertise are vital to the continued success of our organization.

Springfield Ballet Company dancers just wrapped up Session One of SBC's Summer Intensive Workshops, June 24-28. 

Dancers took classical ballet, pointe, variations, conditioning and partnering from master teachers Josiah Savage (Georgia Ballet) and Elizabeth Chapman (Georgia Ballet and former SBC dancer).

In addition to our Company dancers, more than 15 local dancers attended the workshop - including dancers from the Springfield area and surrounding communities, as well as former SBC dancers and alumni.  

Thank you Josiah and Elizabeth for educating and inspiring our dancers.
