News That Connects our West Seattle Junction Merchants

Summer Fest

It's 20 Days Away

Are you ready for our biggest street party of the year?

Summer Fest is 20 days away, almost close enough to start checking the weather.

Now is a good time to let me know what events, specials and sales you're planning. One of our community newsletters (over 8,000 subscribers) will focus on us, the merchants of the Junction.

You can send links, pictures, graphics or a full press release. I'll break it into bite-sized news for our readers. Email me by July 7th.

In the info booth (located at the all walk) we'll have a paid person handing out info and fielding questions during Summer Fest. If you have printed marketing materials please drop them off at the Junction office by July 13th

It's important you know this festival is for everyone. Whatever we can do together as a district to highlight our businesses, the stronger we'll all be.

Reminder! There's a merchant webpage where you can download all the Summer Fest marketing materials. Please use liberally.

Button UP
Button Making Part of Kids Zone

Thanks to Phil ( School of Rock) for co-producing the Summer Fest Kids Zone (along with YMCA, Arts Nest and face painter Lashanna). We've been planning more structured activities in Kids Zone this year to keep minds active and families coming back for multiple Summer Fest visits.

With a SPARKS grant from the City Department of Neighborhoods we purchased a Junction button making machine.

Phil now asks for you to join in by emailing him your hi-res logo! The kids will be making buttons with cutouts. Deadline is July 3rd to send Phil your logo.

You can use the button machine anytime too for your business. Just ask!
July Art Walk
Thursday, July 13th 5pm to Late

This year, we've connected Summer Fest eve to fall once again on Art Walk night. The July Art Walk has been a community fan favorite as the atmosphere in the Junction takes on a party feel.

Dave and Dean ( West 5 ) are planning to host a jazz band. Matt ( Easy Street Records ) already has his Facebook invite out for his in-store show featuring Shabazz Palaces .

Have an event? Send an email (or call!) to let me know if you've got a little something special planned. I'll include it in the Junction newsletters and social media.

Those Ciggy Butts
It's Working

Thanks for communicating to your staff about the cigarette butts on the ground outside the back door of your business. We're finding far less butts in the alleyways!
