Protecting Medicaid in Wisconsin
Did you miss the May 31st webinar on Medicaid? You can now link to the  webinar and it's materials.

The President's Budget combined with cuts now being considered by the U.S. Senate will result in the largest cuts to Medicaid in history.

U.S. Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin need to hear from you. It is also time to start communicating concerns with Governor Walker, your state legislators and to keep the media informed.  We need every advocate, person with a disability and family paying attention and taking action now.
Take Action!
Tell Your Senators: NO Cuts to Medicaid
The Senate is working fast to pass a bill that will cut and cap Medicaid - and they MUST hear from you!
The House already passed a bill that would cut Medicaid by over $830 billion, and open the door to repealing major health care protections like coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. You can learn more about the House's dangerous bill
here.
The Senate is now debating similar legislation.
Your Senators must understand the importance of Medicaid in the lives of people with disabilities and their families, so we can stop bad health care legislation for good.Senators are currently looking at placing caps on how much states can spend on Medicaid services. Experience shows that over time these caps would mean devastating cuts to services.
For the past 52 years, Medicaid has provided healthcare and long term services and supports to millions of adults and children with disabilities. These 10 million participants with disabilities and, often, their families, depend on the critical services that Medicaid provides for their health, functioning, independence, and wellbeing.
Use our simple tool now to call your Senators now and tell them:
  • I am a member of The Arc.
  • I am a person with I/DD (or a family member of someone with I/DD, or a professional in the disability field).
  • I (or my family member) depend(s) on Medicaid long term supports (or home and community supports) to live in my/our community.
  • Please OPPOSE any legislation that will cut or cap Medicaid.
  • These types of cuts would be devastating to me/us and other people with disabilities and their families.
Click here to be directed to The Arc Advocacy Page.  They will walk you through step by step instructions including the contact information for YOUR Senators.  It can't be easier to make an impact.
