Good afternoon,

Happy Father's Day weekend to all the dads in the APBA community.

Congratulations to Penguin and Warrior fans on your team's championships.  Good luck to the young men who were drafted last night.  We are anxious to create your first APBA card.

Well done Scooter Gennett! He joins the exclusive 4 home run in one game club.

The college and pro football annuals are on newstands now.  Less than a 100 days to the start of the college football season.

APBA GO NOW HAS CHAT.  NOW YOU CAN TRASH TALK (TEXT?) YOUR OPPONENT IN REAL TIME.  Check it out!

CONVENTION NEWS
Please place your convention product orders online as soon as your can.  Note in the comments section that you will be picking this order up at the convention.  We will not charge you for the order until you pick it up.  We hope to reduce the order fulfillment time.   When you come to register at the office (which you have to do to get your convention T-shirt), your order will be available. You can still order other items when you are in Alpharetta besides any earlier order(s) you have placed.  This change will help us insure that the products you want are available.

Convention attendees will be able to purchase the 2016 Pro Football Jumbo set, the 2016-17 Hockey card set and at least one 2016-17 European soccer league set.  These items will not be in the APBA store until after the convention.  Note in the comment section of the order form if you want any of these products. Prices will be announced in the future.

Get the tentative 2017 Convention schedule  and the baseball tournament rules here.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week.

OTHER CONVENTION ACTIVITIES
If you are planning to attend the 2017 Convention, the Braves will be home that entire week.  Hosting SF Monday through Thursday and then the Brewers for the weekend.   All of the SF games are night games.  The new Suntrust Field is much closer to the hotel than Turner Field is. If you go to a game, do not buy a set along the right field line, you will have a stiff neck from twisting to see the big Jumbotron.
For soccer fans,  Atlanta United will be hosting Colorado, Saturday night at 7 pm at Bobby Dodd stadium.

TOURNAMENT NEWS
This week the excitement continues to build as we approach the APBA National Convention in Alpharetta, Georgia on June 23-25th. I cannot wait to attend and see my old friends and meet new attendees. It is always an exciting time of the year. Attendance is definitely a bucket list item for APBA players.

This week's regional tournament tip is to establish a tournament theme which helps define the team selection (e.g. The 70's, Post-War Era, DH Era, 1950-Present National League, etc.).  If you have any tips you would like to share with our readers please submitted a brief write-up (3-4 sentences) to Randy at [email protected].   I hope you enjoying these tournament tips.

I am extending my second challenge for a Regional Tournament for the western part of the country.  I know we have some interested parties in Arizona and California.  Someone step to the plate for an event! Remember the initial gathering can be a gaming day. This will build interest, reduce planning, and offer informal play. Don't make me send Langhans out there!

We also added another gaming day to the schedule. APBA Baseball Day in Florida will be held on Saturday June 17th from 9am to 4pm at Denny's/Flying J located North of Tampa along I-75. Please contact FLTony on Between the Lines for further information. Tony I know that you are preparing that special team for Alpharetta.
