2018  New Jersey Superintendent of the Year Candidates 
NJASA County Affiliate Presidents have until June 30th to nominate a candidate to be considered as New Jersey's Superintendent of the Year. The selection process for the national 2018 Superintendent of the Year begins at the New Jersey county level.

of Student Abuse of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Harmful Drugs. 
In 2016, the National Institutes of Health released an annual survey which showed a long-term decline in teen use of many illicit substances including marijuana, alcohol and tobacco.  The Annual Report on Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse in New Jersey Public Schools likewise showed no significant increase in substance abuse. Nevertheless, parents and educators must remain vigilant to prevent student abuse of illicit substances.

Content Linked to PSEL — The PSEL Leadership Reflection and Growth Tool will be an integral part of the program. The goals of each session will be tightly aligned to the specific actions that leaders need to take in order to meet the standards. School and district teams will engage in conversations about how key leadership actions can impact school and district goals.

New Regional Locations —  Bergen County Community College, Rowan College @Gloucester County, Brick Twp. PD Center, and FEA Conference Center

School and District Teams Are Encouraged — In an effort to highlight the importance of teacher leadership, we are encouraging both school and district leadership teams to attend, including superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, supervisors, directors, assistant superintendents, and teacher leaders.

Half-Day Sessions — NJLA sessions will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
