We're moving across town!

We're excited to announce that we are relocating our offices to 49 Vose Farm Office Park (near ConVal High School). Effective July 1, our new home will be just down the road from our Farm to Fork hoop house, providing us with more space for our growing programs.

No worries about our beloved 'Mouseborough' diorama office window.  We're happy to report that our friends at Steele's Stationers have come to the rescue!  Our mice gardeners/farmers will soon be relocating to their new window next door, complete with their seasonal activities and underground home.  Thank you Liz and Bill for keeping Mouseborough in the village!

Kids Connect! Farm, Field & Forest

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with the Monadnock Conservancy and Four Winds Farm to bring an exciting youth summer program to Peterborough for students in grades 3 to 6.

Kids Connect! Farm, Field & Forest is a 5-week (twice weekly) program at Four Winds Farm from 4:00 to 6:30 pm from July 17 to August 17.  The classes aim to promote self-esteem, teamwork, and healthy eating by fostering a connection to land and nature through gardening, woodland exploration, and fun activities.

The program is made possible through the generosity of the Caswell Foundation and offers the opportunity at no cost for families who register through Monadnock Family Services, The River Center, or Southern NH Services: Western Hillsborough County Family Program.  All other registrations can be made directly with katrina@monadnockconservancy.org.

Staff opportunities: We are seeking talented Lead and Assistant Program Coordinators. Applicants must have experience in farm or nature-based youth education and be skilled and creative facilitators.  For job descriptions, please contact joyce@cornucopiaproject.org.

Volunteer opportunties: Seeking volunteers experienced in youth programming to be the extra hands needed to make this new program outstanding!  In addition, on
Monday, June 19, from 3 to 6 p.m., we will be holding a volunteer work gathering at Four Winds to build garden beds and clear a woodland trail in prep for the summer program. Raindate is Thursday, June 22.  All ages welcome!  Email Joyce (above) to sign up.

Schoolchildren are digging their gardens

1st grade students at PES ended their spring garden classes with a salad harvest and sampling!
Despite a cool and wet May, the school gardens at all eight elementary schools are bursting with excitement and young eager hands.

Planting seeds and transplanting seedlings have dominated their spring garden classes. Crops included peas, beans, leeks, brussels sprouts, potatoes, beets and carrots, herbs, and lots of greens for this week's end-of-year celebration salad.

Meet your local farmer segment
Jasen Woodworth (l) and John Sandri, Board President

If you want to take control over your food sources, take the time to know your local growers and producers. They care deeply about their work and community and are the key to a sustainable food system. Please get to know these hard working folks!

Farmer John's Plot
Corner of Route 101 and Chesham Rd., Dublin

Farmer John's Plot is a nonprofit working farm located in Dublin that strives to bring nutrient dense produce, grown in the community, to the community. In addition to running a year-round vegetable stand, they hold land leases on five farm sites in the Mondanock Region, grow healthy food year round in four large high tunnel greenhouses, and manage a Future Farmer Incubator program!

Farmer/Director Jasen Woodworth, is a long way from his days as an unhealthy child, consuming fast-food at an uncomfortably rapid pace. Pursuing his graduate degree at Antioch University New England he met mentor Farmer John Sandri, who helped him become aware of how nourishing food could be. Jasen claims that he will always be passionate about what people put in their bodies and will continue to be a 'whistle-blower' about conventional food vs local organically grown nutrient-dense food.
