From the Program Director

Sarah Chandonnet

A lot of us are ambivalent about Father's Day; some of us flat out hate it. Fatherhood is such a complex concept today: is it possible to celebrate publicly in an intelligent way, without irony or Hallmark platitudes? Could this family holiday be an opportunity to explore what family means to those of us for whom the whole concept is complicated? What if this Father's Day was an opportunity to explore what it means to be a father today? Or to have a father? Or not to have/be one.

This Sunday, join Greg Epstein as he moderates a panel of Hub community members with powerful personal stories to share about the meaning of fatherhood in the 21st century. Talk topics will include: toxic masculinity and the search for better models of manhood; being a single dad-- and being raised by one; fathering as an atheist/agnostic with a religious co-parent; and more. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street.
