FY18 Presidential Budget Includes Severe Cuts to Programs that Support Political Science Research and Education. The White House "proposes to begin shutting down the National Endowment for the Humanities" in 2018 and requests no funds for the Title VI and Fulbright-Hays international education programs at the Department of Education. The
budget request
also includes cuts of over 10 percent to the National Science Foundation.
In response to the budget, the Consortium of Social Science Associations and National Humanities Alliance created tools for users to easily ask Congress to support funding for the
social sciences
and
humanities
. For more information, see

Each month APSA will share a "Did you know" segment to highlight a benefit or resource available to our members. This month we're focusing on jobs!
Did you know that APSA has compiled a list of questions to help job candidates ask the right questions and gather valuable information for career decisions? These questions address topics such as tenure, renewal and annual reviews, research support, teaching support, service activities, and mentoring activities in the department.
Find out more about job candidates and department questions.
With the annual meeting fast approaching, APSA has opened up registration for the e-Jobs Interview Service! This service gives employers space and facilities to interview candidates onsite at the annual meeting.
Candidates starting or continuing their job search will be able to see which employers will be present and available for interviews in San Francisco this year. Interviews are scheduled in advance by employers based on applications received. Be sure to get your information in as soon as you can! Learn more about APSA interview services.
