Rowan Family Farewell Reunion

On Thursday night of last week, our Parish Hall was lavishly decorated with Rowan purple for a "Rowan Family Farewell Reunion".  Twenty parishioners, former Rowan volunteers all, welcomed faculty members past and present for an evening of food, fellowship and reminiscing.  There were lots of hugs and laughs, lots of stories and teasing, lots of conversation about the journey we have shared at a little school that we know to be a very special place where children were nurtured and adults built life long friendships.  Happily, Brad Smith recorded it all on film and video so we will have those to share with the parish.

This event was held because Jackson Public Schools has closed Rowan Middle School.  In its place will be a remediation site for high school students.  This brings to an end the 27 year long partnership between Rowan and St. Andrew's.

WEDNESDAY | JUNE 28

Our Monthly Healing Service will be this Wednesday, June 28, at 6:00 p.m.  Among the special liturgies in our Book of Common Prayer is a service of healing, intended to be shared by those who seek healing and wholeness in their own lives or on behalf of those whom they hold in prayer.  We hold a weekly healing service on Thursdays at noon in our Chapel, but knowing that is a difficult time for many to attend, we have begun offering a healing service on the last Wednesday night of the month, at 6:00 pm, in the Chancel (where the choir sits in the Nave).  At all times, and perhaps especially in this interim season of our parish life, it is appropriate to pray for the healing of what troubles us in mind, body, or spirit.  All are welcome to attend this brief service that will include Holy Eucharist.

SUNDAY | JULY 2
7:30 a.m. | 10:00 a.m.

After the 10:00 a.m. service, we will have watermelons in the courtyard and write letters to our troops as the 4th of July approaches.
MONDAY & TUESDAY | JULY 3-4
The Cathedral offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday (July 3 - 4) for the 4th of July.

SUNDAY | JULY 9
7:30 a.m. | 10:00 a.m.

Guest preacher Less Hegwood.

A Big Thank You to Joe Morris!
Following the 10:00 am service on Sunday, July 9, we will thank Joe Morris for his outstanding service as our interim organist.  Please stay for a light reception!
