GSSCC was pleased to honor these Shining Stars of Silver Spring at its 2017 Awards & Installation Dinner held last Thursday evening at The DoubleTree by Hilton in Silver Spring. WSSC to hold Community Meeting on Water Main Replacement

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) has schedued a community meeting to provide details about the Colesville Road Transmission Water Main Replacement
Project, set to begin later this summer. The meeting, scheduled for tomorrow evening, Tuesday, June 27, at Montgomery Blair High School (51 University Boulevard E), Silver Spring, will begin with an open house at 6:30 p.m. followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. For more details, click here.

* The Original Crisfield Seafood Restaurant  had a special visitor last Friday. Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot stopped by to deliver a special Certificate of Recognition to the restaurant and enjoy a bowl of its iconic clam chowder. The proclamation recognized the restaurant as "a great neighborhood gathering place, serving delicious seafood platters prepared in an Eastern Shore manner for more than 70 years." It expressed appreciation for the "quaint family atmosphere. . .great, friendly customer service and reputation as a notable landmark."

* Two GSSCC member restaurants were featured on local television last week as part of the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington's "BBQ & Grilling Week. All Set Restaurant & Bar Executive Chef Edward Reavis appeared on NBC Washington's "News4 Midday" broadcast (click here to see the clip), and Lincoln's Bar-B-Que's Dana Mangus
was on ABC7's "Good Morning Washington" (click here to see the clip).
