NEMWI Launches
Senior Fellows Program
The Northeast-Midwest Institute has launched a Senior Fellows Program to affiliate national policy experts with its ongoing regional research and policy analysis. The Program's first two fellows, Charlie Bartsch and Dr. Farideh Farazmand, are both experts in urban policy and will be engaged in work related to the Institute's Revitalizing Older Cities Program.
Mr. Bartsch served most recently as Senior Advisor for Economic Development to the Assistant Administrator at the US Environmental Protection Agency. He has published extensively on the topics of brownfield reuse, housing development, state voluntary cleanup programs, and manufacturing modernization, among others.
Dr. Farazmand is Director of Graduate Programs and Professor of International Business at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where she has taught in the Business School since 1999. She has published extensively in the fields of urban economics, public finance, and negotiation styles.
In announcing the first Senior Fellows, NEMWI President and CEO Michael Goff stated "Mr. Bartsch and Dr. Farazmand are outstanding scholars with immense expertise in urban policy. Both will make fantastic contributions to the Institute and especially the Revitalizing Older Cities Program."
