I love to argue, at least I used to. When I was in high school and college, I argued competitively as part of the debate team. In fact, that's how I met Melissa, at a high school debate workshop the summer before our senior years in high school. We both loved to argue. For that same reason, I have always been a political junkie as well. I loved politics, not just for the process of governing and the promise....

For the past eight months, we have moved together through a series of holy conversations as part of As For Me & My House visioning process....

AUMC Youth FUNdraiser - Faith, Family + Friends

Thank you for the great response from everyone in the congregation.
All letters and money need to be turned in by Sunday, June 4th! We were able to sell all 150+ envelopes and look forward to see how it helps to connect our youth back to the congregation of Aledo UMC.

Camp Hope is in full swing! Part of camp involves the kiddos making snacks; groceries are then sent home every week so they can make the snacks at home to share with their families. Center of Hope is collecting the following items for Camp Hope sites throughout Parker County, including our camp at Oak Hill. Thank-you for your support!

Peanut Butter- (Plastic Jars)
Honey - (plastic Jars)
Jelly - (Plastic Jars)
Cereal - (Family Size)
Spaghetti-o's - (any brand)

Individual bags of lunch-sized chips

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group

Thursday, June 8, 1:00pm
Guest speakers will be Beth Lambdin, Senior Behavioral Health Liaison at Weatherford Regional Medical Center and Deb Williford, Director of Volunteer Services for the Senior Circle Advisors. They will present information on how to prepare for the inevitable trip to the emergency room with someone with dementia. If you know of anyone that might be interested in this discussion, please tell them about this meeting. We will also have Kaleidoscope for the care recipients.
