Vendor of the Week: Homesteaders Cache
Rod and Michelle Johnson run Homesteaders Cache from their homestead located near Tee Harbor, in Juneau.
They make soap from scratch by blending natural ingredients in small batches and pouring into handmade wooden block molds. The soap is hand cut into bars, put on drying racks and aged for a month. They use a custom blend of 6 oil, combined with natural colorants and botanicals and add in just the right amount of fragrance oil or essential oils. Some of our soaps include goat's milk which creates a luxurious lather.
Check out their variety of soaps and shampoo bars – our favorite is kitchen soap made with percolated Heritage Coffee beans from Juneau’s local roaster! Use it to help remove strong odors on your hands from onions, garlic, or fish. Percolated coffee is added to the soap recipe to absorb odors and ground coffee is added for extra scrubbing power!
