Ameren Missouri Line Maintenance & Upgrade Project

Ameren Missouri is performing maintenance and reliability upgrades to 26 miles of transmission wires in communities from west St. Louis county to the Metro East. Utilizing a helicopter to do this work allows Ameren to minimize the foot-print on the ground and to complete the work in a significantly shorter time frame - weeks, rather than months.
Because of the weather delays in the past few weeks, the project completion has been pushed through the end of May. Ameren Missouri will be utilizing a helicopter to work on transmission structures, beginning May 17th, near High-way 44 in Oakland, and moving up through Ladue Road in Clayton. This work is expected to last through the weekend.

The public should be aware that all necessary safety precautions and permits are in place. The helicopter work will be on-going through the end of May, weather permitting, and may include weekends. The upgrades will enhance the energy grid and provide safe and dependable energy for communities throughout our region.

For more information go to:
or call Ameren directly @ 1-800-552-7583.

Brentwood Alumni Association Hands Out 8 More Scholarships

Eleven Years, 64 students, over $180,000! Those are the numbers now for the Brentwood Alumni Association Scholarship program. On May 5th, the BAA continued its giving ways by awarding 8 BAA scholarships of $2000 each to graduating seniors from Brentwood High School. The money for these scholarships comes totally from graduates of Brentwood High through their donations to BAA.  Committee Chair David Pentland and BAA President George Clements made the presentations to the following students:

Mishal Azeem: Mishal emigrated to the US from Pakistan as a young child and recently became a US citizen. She was active in soccer, field hockey (where she was selected as team MVP), Spanish Club (where she served as president), Future Educators of America, and STUCO. Mishal plans to attend Southeast Missouri University and study software engineering.

Kerry Clarke: Kerry was adopted from Russia and, like Mishal, has really adapted to life in Brentwood. She played field hockey and served as manager for the wrestling team. Kerry was a member of GSA, French Club, and was inducted into French National Honor Society. Kerry is planning on studying psychology at Lindenwood University.

AnnaGrace Conway: AnnaGrace was another active senior serving in STUCO and as president of Friends of Rachel. She was a member of National Honor Society, FCA, the softball team, and was chosen to represent Brentwood at the HOBY State Leadership Conference. She plans to attend Fontbonne University and study Early Childhood Education.

Aileen Frazier: Aileen was active both academically and athletically. She played soccer and field hockey (serving as captain) and kept wrestling stats. She also was a cheerleader. Besides serving as STUCO VP, she was involved in NHS, French NHS, French Club, Robotics and FCA. After graduating, she plans to study Plant Science at Purdue University.

Emma Lochmoeller: Emma participated in STUCO and was a member of both NHS and French NHS. She played soccer and field hockey. Emma plans to attend SEMO and study Nursing.

Skylar Sappington: Skylar was Brentwood's Post-Dispatch Scholar-Athlete, having lettered in Basketball, football, and baseball and achieving Academic All-State status. He was a member of NHS and FCA and served as Class Treasurer in 11th grade. Skylar will be attending Missouri Science and Technology to play football and study engineering.

Stephen Suntrup, Jr.: Stephen was also quite an athlete at BHS, participating in basketball, football, baseball and wrestling. He was a member of German Club, STUCO, and NHS and was an Academic All-State. A recipient of the Jack Buck Student Achievement Award, he will be attending Elmhurst College to study Communications.

Kasia White: Kasia was an active young lady at BHS achieving 3rd place in the MCCGA Winter Percussion Championship while participating in BHS band/winter percussion. She also made a name for herself in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch 100 Neediest Cases Art competition with a 16th place finish in 2015 and a 21st place finish in 2016. Besides her work in the Arts Club, Kasia participated in German Club and German NHS, Book Club, and GSA.
