Civic Leaders Session Begins

The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, program sponsors and supporters are pleased to welcome this year's class of Civic Leaders Fellows

The Civic Leaders Fellowship Program is a community leadership initiative of CFOV.  Now in its fifth year, the program matches selected students with participating host organizations and creates an internship paired with personal and professional development programming.

Scholarships Make a Difference

You've seen the headlines and news stories - higher education costs are increasing and tackling student debt is a challenge faced by many.

CFOV administers more than 60 scholarship funds that are designed to support students in their educational journeys and minimize financial strain.

The donors behind our scholarship funds created unique opportunities that recognize academic merit, community commitment, heritage, potential and more.  Through their generosity, Ohio Valley students have resources to make higher education more affordable.

As we continue to celebrate graduation season, we'd like to share some of the wonderful expressions of gratitude shared by recipients of CFOV scholarships.

"I am honored and beyond thankful to be a recipient of the Jan Mayhew Graham Scholarship.  Thanks to your generous support, college has become a more attainable dream."  Brooke Alexander, Oak Glen High School

"I am very honored to be receiving the CFOV Beulah Meyer Fund Scholarship.  The funds will be helpful as I continue my education...I hope to complete my degree in elementary education and make a positive impact on my students and community." Austin Grant, Weirton Madonna High School

"I would like to extend my most sincere thank you for awarding me academic scholarships!  I am extremely thankful to have been chosen for the Former Martins Ferry Rotary Club and Ken Dennis scholarships.  The cost of a college education is increasingly high and any financial assistance is greatly appreciated."  Josie McAninch, Martins Ferry High School

"It's an honor to have been chosen as a 2017 recipient of the Tikkun Olam Scholarship.  My lifelong dream of being able to help heal people through equine counseling and therapy is moving forward thanks to your generosity."
Eden Rice, Brooke High School
