Action Alert: Thank Members Who Oppose the ADA Education and Reform Act
Recently, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a version of the ill-named ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017 (H.R. 620), which would make it more difficult for people with disabilities to challenge remaining barriers to full inclusion. The Network encourages your agency to reach out to all of your House members who voted against the bill and thank them for their votes against this measure. Track how your members voted and learn more here.
- The NJHSA Board has approved, The Network's Policy Priorities, which reflect NJHSA's general policies as an international association. Feel free to use these guidelines as a template for your agency. Mindy Brodsky, NJHSA's Washington Representative is available as a resource.

MAX is a transition support service focused on Young Adults working toward self-sufficiency. Through the use of 5 modules, MAXers develop skills in the areas of communication, problem solving, emotional regulation, empathy/ friendship and character flexibility all associated with gaining and retaining employment and independent living. MAX began as a program serving young adults within the Columbus Jewish Community; and has recently expanded to include serving youth emancipating foster care from Franklin County Children's Services.

KAVOD's mission is to provide aid to Holocaust Survivors who have emergency day to day needs for food, medicine and/or household goods. Serving Holocaust Survivors living at or below the poverty line in the United States, KAVOD is designed to make sure these men and women live out their remaining years with dignity and respect by issuing aid in the form of gift cards to grocery stores and pharmacies near where they live.
