This is a great team building exercise for company teams or individuals; with each group/individual being responsible for painting one, or several individual canvases that will be assembled into the backdrop for our Annual Meeting. Central United Methodist Church Redevelopment Approved

The Arlington County Board unanimously approved the redevelopment of Central United Methodist Church (CUMC) earlier this year. This project will expand the church's ability to serve the community on several fronts. The redevelopment will include expansion of the daycare space to supplement Kinhaven School's capacity to provide daycare services to the community as well as an increased worship space and community kitchen. With the creation of nonprofit organization Ballston Station Housing Corporation, the redevelopment will also include a residential structure above the church with 119 total rental units, 48 of which will be affordable housing units. A local historic district honoring Ballston's founding family will also be located at the space, with a section containing several Ball family members' headstones and a stained glass backdrop. The project will begin in fall of 2017 with an estimated completion date of fall 2019 assuming CUMC wins approval of its tax credit application.

Rustico's Summer Crawfish Boil

Kick off Summer 2017 the right way with a southern lowcountry boil at Ballston's own
Rustico  on June 17th. Rustico will be serving a traditional menu of Louisiana crawfish, Andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes paired with local draft beers from Virginia craft breweries including The Veil, Commonwealth, Brothers Craft Brewing, and more from 12pm to 4pm in the courtyard adjacent to the restaurant. In addition to amazing food and drinks there will be two live bluegrass performances from local bands and lawn games in the courtyard. There's no admission fee for the event, and crawfish will be priced by the pound. Make sure to stop by and experience this southern tradition firsthand; there's no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
