It's unfortunate when a well-funded startup with strong credentials and seemingly all the right stuff closes its doors. Unfortunately, Pearl Automation, the apple-connected Scotts Valley-based company that came out of stealth one year ago with $50M of funding is shutting down.

Google-affliated Alphabet Inc. is testing delivery drones in Fort Ord.
