Self-ie-Motivated
Students who are engaged in the learning process perform better, develop better self-discipline, and are generally happier. Ms. Sclar has come up with a clever way to motivate students with her
"Request a Selfie Board"
. Whenever a student feels particularly proud of the work they've done or something they've made, they can "request a selfie" and Ms. Sclar will take their picture alongside their work. Encouraging students to show off their accomplishments promotes a sense of pride and community. In addition, the selfie concept relates to today's social media environment and puts schoolwork in that same context of visibility, which causes students to reflect upon their work and consider putting more effort into taking their projects further so they can be proud to show them off.

Easter Baskets for Collington Square
It is a St. John’s Parish Day School tradition to join efforts with St. John’s Episcopal Church to support those families in need residing in Baltimore’s Collington Square Community at Easter. Together we provide Easter Baskets of the less traditional kind filled with food and basic necessities, rather than candy and toys.
Directly outside your child’s classroom will be a white basket labeled with a desired item for each collection effort. Simply drop this item in the basket any time between
Friday, March 1st and Friday, March 23rd and church volunteers will deliver the baskets to the families on Palm Sunday, March 25th.

Vote Today!

nominated for "Best Preschool" and "Best Independent School" by the Baltimore's Child Reader's Choice Awards. These two categories are about 5 pages in. You do not have to vote for every item to be able to move on to the next. Thank you for your support!
