Students, Parents, Teachers & Friends of Education,

The Georgia Department of Education recently released its 2017-2018 list of Title I Reward Schools. The Barrow County School System had five schools recognized as High-Progress Reward Schools. Those schools were Bethlehem Elementary, Bramlett Elementary, Haymon-Morris Middle, Statham Elementary, and Yargo Elementary. A High-Progress School is among the 10 percent of the state's Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of the "all students" group over three years on the statewide assessments. Congratulations to the administration, faculty, staff, and students of these schools for this recognition and for being BOLDly committed to student success.

Lady Doggs

This year, history was made when the Lady Doggs Basketball Team made their first back-to-back State Championship Play-off appearance. In an Elite Eight playoff game Tuesday, the team fought hard but lost to the number 1 team in the state, Lovejoy, in overtime by a score of 68-67. These girls gave it their all. We are so proud of the history they have made in this program.

Coach Garrin sent the picture above with this note: "Check out these girls at the Pre-K Special Olympics. Not only are they ballers on the basketball court, but they love getting out in the community and volunteering at events with kids, especially these sweet kids at the Olympics. #proudcoach #WBfamily"
