STEM EXPO
All students and their families are invited to the STEM EXPO 2018, THIS Saturday, March 3, 9am-12noon in the gym at Forest Road School.  

Visit our Kindergarten through 6th grade scientists as they display and present their projects.  With over 170 displays from 225 students throughout D102, there is something for everyone.

Afterwards, visit the Science Center, 10am-1pm and learn about the awesome Lyons Township High School science and tech clubs that are in our students' future.  Hope to see you there!
Movie Night at Cossitt
RESCHEDULED for Friday, March 9
Join us for a fun movie night at Cossitt for students in grades K-3, on Friday, March 9 at 7:00pm, featuring the movie "Zootopia."
 
Feel free to come in your PJs and/or bring a sleeping bag/blanket (but no chairs please so that everyone can see).  Kids must be accompanied by an adult and siblings of all ages may attend . The PTC will provide popcorn and water. For the sake of the gym floor, please do NOT bring in outside food/drinks.

SCRIP
Not quite ready for spring break? No worries, The PTC offers man options of SCRIP gift cards to help you plan and pay for your travel and entertainment! 

Never ordered before? It's easy-- click on the link below to print out the order form, fill it out and return the order form with payment to the Cossitt office.  We will send the cards home with your student. Cossitt earns rebates per each SCRIP card purchased.  Orders are due to the office by the end of school on March 9 with delivery March 15.
Lisa Katzenberger Author Visit Grades K-2
The Cossitt LRC is excited to host author AND COSSITT PARENT, Lisa Katzenberger, on Wednesday, March 7.  Ms. Katzenberger will talk with Cossitt students in grades K-2 about her career as an author and her new book Triceratops Would not make a Good Ninja.

Orders forms were sent home with students in grades K-2 or click on the link below to print a copy.  To order a personalized copy of her book, please return the order form with payment (cash or check payable to Cossitt PTC) by Wednesday, March 7.  If you miss the date, there will be a limited supply of signed books available for purchase through March 16.
Art Show Student Submissions Sign Up
Time is running out!  The Cossitt Art Show is coming up Mar 15!

Students are invited to submit their own works of art for display, including LIVE ART & MUSIC for 5th & 6th graders
 
The deadline to sign up is Friday, March 9th!

Please note that you  must sign-up via the Art Show sign-up (see below) to participate in the show! Drop off instructions are indicated on the sign-up. Click on the sign-up link below so your student can submit his/her very own individual art work, or perform music or live art.  
 
We also need parents to help before and after the show for set up and clean up. Sign-up via the sign-up genius below!

2018 Run for District 102 - Race to the Finish
Ready, set, go ...  Registration is up and running for the D102 Race to the Finish!  

The 5K and 1 mile run/walk will take place on  Sunday, April 29th at 8:30 am, so save the date!  It doesn't matter if you are a super speed runner or a super slow walker - please plan to join us for a great time while benefiting the D102 schools!!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, teachers and staff for their help making the 1st Grade Mexico CCC a success this year!  A special thank you to
Jennifer Robison and  Rene' Collins-Maragh for co-chairing this event as well as to all of their committee chairs.

A big shout out of thanks to our volunteers and especially  Lisa Gibbons and  Vanessa Robertson for planning such a fun night at Flying High  for our first through third graders! A jumping good time was had by all! 
Cards for the Crossing Guard
Ms. Tierny (Jan), the crossing guard at Ashland Ave., fell and hurt herself on the job.  She is ok and hopes to be back by April. If you would like to send her "Get Well Soon" greetings, please drop off cards, drawings or gift cards
 at 432 S Ashland by Thursday March 8.
PIMA Dine Out Night at Chipotle March 13
Who doesn't like a Taco Tuesday night?!
On Tuesday March 13, 5-9pm, come and support PIMA (Parent Instrumental Music Association for school district #102) and it's "Dine Out Night" by dining at Chipotle, 40 N La Grange Rd, La Grange.

 50% of proceeds will go to PIMA and help pay for instrument rental assistance, purchasing instruments for band and orchestra, field trips, camp scholarships and much more.

PIMA Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser
Looking for something for your kids to do on the last day of Spring Break? PIMA is hosting a pizza   LUNCH  party FUNdraiser at Flying High on

HEROES for 4th and 5th Grade Boys
Calling all 4th and 5th grade boys!    Be a HERO and join us for the HEROES workshop at Ogden School on  Sunday, March 18th from 11:00am-4:00pm ! It is a full-day program  designed especially for young boys growing into their new role as an adolescent, while staying healthy and having fun on this social-emotional journey.
