HART CEO ANDREW ROBBINS ADDRESSES THE
HARVARD CLUB OF HAWAI'I

HART's Executive Director and C.E.O. Andrew Robbins was the featured speaker at this month's "Brown Bagger" lunch meeting of the Harvard Club of Hawaii.  The club invited Robbins to provide updates on the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.

During the hour-long session, Robbins brought the club up-to-speed on rail project construction, provided information about new risk-management policies he's implemented since taking over as HART's CEO, and he spoke about the benefits of public-private partnerships in delivering the remainder of the Transit Project.

The session was held at Architects Hawaii in the Pacific Guardian Center (PGC), between Bishop and Alakea Streets.  The PGC fronts the area on Nimitz Highway where the Downtown Station of the Rail Project will be located.

The Harvard Club of Hawaii was founded in 1907 and is one of the oldest Harvard Clubs in the country.  The club is open to all degree holders of the Cambridge, Massachusetts based university.

THE HART TEAM TAKES A
"WALK ON THE WILD SIDE"

The HART Team was front and center at the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii's "Walk on the Wild Side" Event in Downtown Honolulu.  The event was centered at Fort Street Mall but also scattered among other locales throughout Chinatown.

The event featured food booths, entertainment stages, and various exhibitors, all set against the backdrop of "Walk on the Wild Side" theme.

The HART Team hosted an informational booth to answer questions and provide information, primarily about the Project's Chinatown and Downtown Stations, just two of the 21 stations along the 20-mile alignment.

READ THE LATEST PROGRESS REPORT ON THE HONOLULU RAIL TRANSIT PROJECT!

Each month, the HART Board of Directors receives a comprehensive report on the current status of the rail project.  The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation believes it is essential to keep the public up-to-date on the project. Therefore, each monthly report is open for public review.

REMINDER: PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY IN AREAS OF STATION CONSTRUCTION

Construction work is moving along nicely out on the Ewa side of the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.  In fact, guideway work from Kapolei to Aloha Stadium is nearly 100% complete.   However, you will still notice construction work in those areas because while the guideway is wrapping up, work on the nine stations in that section is ramping up.

And as that work continues, we thought it would be a great time to remind Oahu drivers to again, stay alert and reduce your driving speed as you enter any construction areas.  Be aware that in any construction zone, like those along Farrington & Kamehameha Highways, the adjusted speed limit is 25 miles-per-hour.

HART thanks you for your patience and understanding as crews work to complete the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
