President's Message

Summer is here, the rain has finally returned, and the kids are out of school. It good to live in Florida, and I can't tell you how excited I am for our upcoming summer event. Hopefully you already received your invitation. Feel free to share the invite with anyone in your plant or organization that you think would enjoy the offerings Diep put together and the camaraderie of industry peers. We'd love to have a big crowd and love to welcome new faces. Involvement is the lifeblood of groups like FPCA active, involved folks are the best.

With this the second edition of our newsletter we wanted to say thank you for your comments and encouragement, and how pleased we were with the reception of edition number one. Keeping FPCA members in the loop on our activities has renewed emphasis which we plan to only expand going forward. Keep an eye out for opportunities to get involved with upcoming events. When we bring together our collective resources and knowledge it never ceases to amaze me the level of expertise we have at our disposal.
Thanks as always for your continued support and I look forward to seeing everyone in August.

Lenny Salvo, President of the Board
Coreslab Structures (Orlando)

PCI_UpdatePCI's Update

  • OSHA Walking Working Surfaces
PCI, on behalf of it members, filed two variance requests with OSHA related to the new regulation on Walking Working Surfaces. This regulation controls an employee while working on stacks and when loading trailers. This new regulation is for General Industry, which only effects our members at their facilities.

One of the key components mandated by OSHA is that PCI inform all plant workers of this request. PCI emailed and mailed to each plant location the pertinent documents for alerting workers with detailed step by step instructions on compliance, and where to find the forms which were created on their behalf.

All of this information is on the PCI website members only, under the business performance section, marked Walking Working documents. There are four links to download all of the documents.
