Meet Briana Scurry at Taste of Arlington
Taste of Arlington is back next month on May 17th in Ballston from noon to 6pm with fun activities for  the whole family including your furry friends. If you are a dog lover or a soccer lover- the BarkPark presented by the Ballston Animal Hopsital will be the place for you! With everything from dog vendors to a dog caricature artist to the popular World Pup tournament - this area will be full of fun! Patrons will be able to do everything from meeting the Ballston Animal Hospital's Vet to hanging out at the DC United tent. There will also be a DJ on stage and photo opps with OT 99.5's Intern John with his dog Chuy. Be sure to cheer on Chuy as he competes in the World Pup at 2pm!
With the Taste World Pup tournament and with the Women's World Cup taking place this summer- we are lucky to have Women's Soccer superstar Briana Scurry joining us at Taste of Arlington this year. Bri Scurry is widely thought of as one of the world's-best female soccer goalkeepers. After being named starting goalkeeper for the United States women's national soccer team in 1994, she helped lead the team in two Olympic gold medals (1996 and 2004) and had 173 international appearances - a record amongst female soccer players. With over 90,000 screaming fans watching, Briana made history in 1999 after an astounding shoot-out save against China, which resulted in a championship win! Briana was recently selected for U.S. Soccer All-Time best XI National Team lineup. Briana's ability to inspire, both on and off the field, has helped pave the way for women's soccer everywhere. Meet Briana in the VIPup Pavilion in the BarkPark at 2pm for an autographed photo of her.

Taste of Arlington is conveniently located in the heart of Ballston on Wilson Blvd. Just a block from the Metro and bus stations, our location makes for an ideal weekend! Here are some suggestions on how to best get to Taste: By Metro- Take the orange line to Ballston-MU Station and walk one block down Stuart St. By Bike-There are 6 Capital BikeShare stations in Ballston plus a number of bike racks stationed around the event. By Bus- The Arlington Transit stops through Ballston at the corner of Stuart St & Fairfax Dr- just a block from the event. If you do wish to drive we recommend parking in the Ballston Common Mall Parking Garage for just $1.00 for 3 hours + $1 for every hour after that. Join the Taste of Arlington team! Now in its 28th year, volunteer with us to celebrate Arlington's finest food, drink and culture with proceeds of this event benefitting Arlington Food Assistance Center. With an expected crowd of 35,000+ people, we need a lot volunteer power to help make this event fun for everyone. We're looking for volunteers to help with the later shifts in the BarkPark, KidZone, Beer & Wine Garden and VIP Pavilion.
For donating your time, you will receive a complimentary taste ticket booklet for 10 free tastes, a volunteer t-shirt, and of course, we expect you to have lots of fun!

Meet
Come meet HOT 99.5's Intern John at the Taste of Arlington Bar Crawl on Saturday May 8
th in Ballston! Intern John is one of the stars of one of DC's most popular morning shows, the Kane Show. We are visiting four Taste of Arlington participating restaurants starting at 4pm with Intern John and each will be highlighting brews and bubbly that will be in the Beer & Wine Garden on May 17
th. The four participating restaurants are Pizza Vinoteca, Mussel Bar, The Front Page and A-Town. Each restaurant will be offering drink specials and complimentary appetizers to everyone participating! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on the Taste of Arlington webpage or you can click on the link below. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate. ID is required.
