Where
Orangetheory FitnessĀ® is a high-intensity interval training studio that opened their second Arlington location in late July right here in Ballston. The 4,200-square-foot studio is located at 4201 Wilson Blvd, right across the street from the Ballston Common Mall.
The group training, heart rate-based workout at Orangetheory Fitness combines cardio, power and strength training in a single hour session, using treadmills, indoor rowing machines and a weight training station. Every person receives a heart-rate monitor and can view their heart rate on large TV screens throughout the studio. The goal is to get the heart beating between 84-percent to 91-percent of its maximum rate for 12 to 20 minutes of the workout; resulting in a high metabolic increase and a calorie burn up to 36 hours post workout. This is referred to as the 'Orange Effect.'
If you have not tried Orangetheory Fitness, now is the time! THE FIRST CLASS IS FREE so be sure to schedule your first class today.

Minds
Mickley's Orchard has been a staple at the Ballston Farmers Market since the very beginning! Bill Mickley is the great (green-thumbed) mind behind all the delicious fruits, vegetables and farm-fresh products offered every Thursday in Welburn Square. Bill's produce is a best-seller because he finds it important for his customers to know the person behind the product. He is directly involved in every step of his farm's operations from planting the seeds to the selling of the finished product at Farmers Markets around the region. This season Mickley's Orchard has featured some new products which include single-serve cantaloupes, edible flowers, new varieties of sweet corn and a Fuji apple juice. As we get into the fall, patrons can get excited for apple season and Mickley's delicious apple cider! Bill is the 5
th generation of his family tree to run the farm and has been working hard the past few years to diversify the products he offers while incorporating farming practices that are better for the environment. Bill finds it so rewarding to plant something, watch it grow until harvest and watch customers smile when they purchase it to eat. If you haven't visited Mickley's Orchard at the Ballston Farmers Market, come out any Thursday through the end of October!
