Kite Fest colors the sky Aug. 21-27
 
One of the biggest draws of the year, the 37th annual Washington State International Kite Festival is back at the beach Aug. 21-27.

The week-long event features professional kite-flying competitions, hands-on workshops, activities for children, four mass ascensions, fireworks and lots more!

Jazz & Oysters on Aug. 19 will be held at Veteran's Field in Long Beach.
Jake to Jazz: August action nears

Kick off August with Jake the Alligatorman's Birthday on Aug. 4-5 at Veteran's Field in downtown Long Beach. Jake's birthday festivities include a car show, live music, Bride of Jake competition, a burlesque bachelor party and lots more. 

Two weeks later is Jazz & Oysters on Aug. 19, which will be held in Long Beach for the first time. Be sure to arrive on an empty stomach!

Waikiki Beach Concerts are July 8 & 22 and August 12 & 26. They're free to attend if you have a valid Discover Pass.
Waikiki Beach Concert Series

Waves breaking in the background, an ocean breeze in the air, toes tapping on the dance floor -- it's hard to beat the Waikiki Beach Summer Concert Series in Cape Disappointment State Park. All you need to attend is a Discover Pass, available at the park entrance. The family-friendly performances last 90 minutes. Consider bringing a lawn chair and blanket.
