Million Box Challenge: Feeding Palm Beach County Students
Students can't  #MakeItCountPBC without proper nourishment, and many children right here in Palm Beach County consistently go without food, especially on breaks from school and on the weekends.

The District's School Food Service Department partnered with  Living Hungry and the  Everglades Trust to bring the "Million Box Challenge" to Palm Beach County students. Boxes of free food were distributed to children in 83 participating schools throughout the District, just in time for Spring Break. Watch the video...

Passing the Torch: Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II Takes Over as 26th Superintendent of Palm Beach County Schools
Signed, sealed and delivered! Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II officially became  the School District of Palm Beach County 's 26th Superintendent of Schools on March 14. Watch his messages to students, staff and parents.

#ThankATeacherPBC: Glades Central HS Teacher Named PBCSD's Teacher of the Week

Her husband stood outside the classroom door with a dozen roses, alongside the Glades Central Community High School administrative staff, waiting for just the right moment to walk in. And then, on cue, the door to Gwen Asia-Holley's room was opened, and she was announced as this week's  #ThankATeacherPBC  teacher of the week. She has been described as "dedicated to her career" and treats her students as if they were one of her own. Four Teams Earn $49,000 from Tank for Their Philanthropic Projects
Four teams of high school students from across the School District entered a 'Shark Tank'-style competition Sunday and emerged victorious, earning money from local investor/mentors for their community service projects.

The teams made the finals from among 50 applications submitted from students vying for their part of a $100,000 purse in the Palm Beach Philanthropic Tank competition. Read more...

Tell Me Something Good....
Forest Hill Elementary School 5th grader Stanley Michel always has a ready smile and kind word for everyone he meets. The difference between Stanley and most children his age? Thanks to his driven personality and enrollment in his school's Dual Language program, he can expertly express those kind words in three different languages!

"What I've learned from my mom is that knowing multiple languages could help me get a job," Stanley shares.

Stanley's  principal, Scott McNichols, agrees. "He's very goal driven. He's got goals for this year, he's got goals for next year, he's got career goals already. And in a young fifth grader like that, it's just amazing." Watch the video...



You may remember Orlando Lopez, a 2017 graduate of  Forest Hill Community High School, from a  WPTV story that aired last May. Orlando came to Palm Beach County at the age of 16 knowing absolutely no English, and having last attended school in his native Guatemala at the age of 13.

Fast forward nearly one year and Orlando has once again found success in  the School District of Palm Beach County, helping young children who have come to America under similar circumstances. He currently works as a Community Language Facilitator (CLF) at  Highland Elementary School, helping to teach English to Guatemalan children. Watch the video...
