Gustafson North FSR fire Update
9:07am July 7th, 2017

This morning the Gustafson North FSR fire is reported to be 1,230 ha in size.  The CRD has approximately 33 properties under an evacuation order.  The RCMP and 108 Mile VFD members actioned those orders last night.
This morning winds are starting to pick up and an evacuation Alert order is being put in place for properties north and east of the fire.  This alert area will affect approximately 1,800 properties for the communities of 108 and 105 Mile. This is being established as a precaution at this time to give residents an opportunity to consider what preparations they need to make now IF there is a change in the fire boundaries later.  (The situation is serious and fluid.)
People need to be prepared to take important papers and documents such as insurance.  Pets need to be evacuated with their owners.  For checklists and other important information on preparing for Alerts and Evacuations please refer to the CRD Emergency Operations Facebook page and CRD website http://www.cariboord.bc.ca/    There is a bar on the top of the page which will take you to the latest updates on Evacuation Orders and Alerts People can also call the CRD EOC info line at 250-398-5117   A reminder to animal owners, all animals are considered pets unless they are actually part of a livestock operation.  If you own livestock and need assistance please call the EOC Info Line.

If you will need help in the event of an evacuation please call the info line immediately  at 250-398-5117 so we are able to plan in advance, just in case.

Entrepreneurial Mindset Grant Provides FREE Training for Northern BC Business Owners!

How can you build on your strengths, grow your business and make more money? It's all about mindset!

As a business owner, you need to have your head in the game to stay competitive. Having an "entrepreneurial mindset" can help you make good decisions, be confident in your abilities and plan for change.

Women's Enterprise Centre (WEC) and Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) have partnered to help business owners in the north assess and improve their entrepreneurial mindset to realize their business potential.

Through this partnership,  100 Entrepreneurial Mindset Grants will be provided to Northern entrepreneurs - women and men - so they can develop the thought and behavior that drives business growth.

ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET GRANT
The Mindset Grant offsets the cost for 100 individuals to participate in a comprehensive entrepreneurial mindset development program, delivered by WEC.

First come first served -  apply today!

ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Organizations that identify as "entrepreneurial" have been shown to succeed at a much faster pace in the market with significantly increased capital investment, higher profit margins and greater productivity. This comprehensive program helps business owners develop the mindset to drive business growth and the economic health of Northern BC. It includes:

Your personalized EMP™ assessment
The Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile™ (EMP) is an exceptional resource that provides clear insight into entrepreneurial strengths and specific opportunities for development. The EMP compares an individual on 14 scales to two norm groups: entrepreneurs and corporate managers. Having this baseline understanding helps to focus on developing innovation, creativity and growth leadership. The assessment takes about 20 minutes - complete yours by July 17 and be automatically entered to win a $100 Visa gift card.

AND

"Develop Your Entrepreneurial Mindset" regional workshop
Facilitated by the only Certified EMP™ Practitioners in Western Canada, workshops will be offered throughout Northern BC in fall 2017. Gain a deeper understanding of the assessment tool, insight into your own profile and tips to create an action plan to apply your results to your business.

AND

BONUS "Preferred Applicant" status for upcoming EMP mentoring program
Women business owners who receive the grant can also access a special rate plus an early application invite for an in-depth mentoring program. The program includes a personal coaching session, webinars and mentoring to develop your seven key skill areas and improve your business performance. Program details and pricing to be confirmed in fall 2017.

Don't miss out - grants are limited!
