From Mrs. DiTommaso (siprincipal@sischool.org):

Dear St. Ignatius Families:

Summer vacation has officially begun. On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of our school, I would like to thank all the people who volunteered in any way this year. All that we accomplished would not be possible without your help.

As far as Terra Nova test results are concerned please see the message below. Once we receive the results we will mail them to the families:

DRC recently acquired the business assets of CTB and that included the TerraNova  test. As the two data systems and scoring processes are being integrated, there have been many discoveries and unanticipated issues that have caused significant delays in the reporting process. Clearly this has affected our ability to deliver the scores for your students in a timely manner.

The production of printed reports will be divided into two phases. The first phase is scheduled to begin on July 10, and reports are expected to be delivered on or before July 31. Phase II is scheduled to begin on July 24 with reports delivered on or before August 25.  We are working on a solution to address the added expense caused by these delays.

We understand how frustrating this situation is for you. Please know two things:

DRC|CTB is completely responsible for these delays and your school's normal student scores and report availability has been delayed in our transition year.
This is a first-year transition problem, and in the next year these issues will be resolved, so this will not happen again.

Sincerely,

Pat Roschewski, Ph.D.                                                                            Lisa Peterson-Nelson
Senior Vice President, Education Solutions                                           Chief Quality Officer

May you have a safe and restful summer. Remember Mass attendance on the weekends.

God Bless,
Mrs. DiTommaso
From Mr. Merrick (rmerrick@sischool.org):

Dear St. Ignatius Families,

I hope that you are enjoying the summer break so far. Here at school, we are working on preparing for the 2017-2018 school year while taking some time to rest.

Thank you for your support of my cousin's foundation through the dress down day on June 15th; we raised $371.00.

Yearbooks for PreK students were mailed home this week, so you should receive them in the next day or so. Thank you to our student yearbook staff and my yearbook co-moderator, David Iannacone, for all of their hard work this year. I invite all interested 4th-8th graders to consider joining the yearbook staff in the fall.

We sent this year's final print edition of The Crusader at the beginning of the month; click here for the digital edition. I appreciate all of the efforts of our student writers and my newsletter co-moderators, Kristen Glunz and Caroline Gallagher. 4th-8th graders who like to write are invited to join our staff in September.

As I have indicated below, DVD orders for Passion Play, 8th Grade Graduation, and Kindergarten Graduation (as well as any other orders placed during the month of June) will be mailed home over the summer. I appreciate your patience, and I am also grateful to David Iannacone for all of his efforts in producing the DVDs to allow you to have a great video from any seat in the auditorium.

We are sending out the final OptionC statements for the year. Payments may be mailed to or dropped off to the school office. The grade levels have also been advanced in OptionC, however, classroom assignments have not yet been entered for PreK-4, 1st, and 3rd grades.

Please let me know if you have any questions; I will be out of the office the weeks of July 3rd and 10th, and I will be in only a few days the week of July 17th. I hope that you all have a safe, restful, and happy summer!

All summer assignments can be found on the Back to School page of the school website.

DVD orders will be mailed home as they are completed. The Passion Play, Kindergarten Graduation, and 8th Grade Graduation are currently in editing/post-production.
Home and School Volunteer Survey:

The Home and School Board is once again conducting a survey to inform our parents about the committees for involvement in our sponsored events, and giving everyone the opportunity to sign up and become more involved in our school.
Lunch/Recess Duty Schedule:

Over the summer, I will start making up the lunch/recess duty schedule for next school year.  Each family with students in kindergarten through eighth grade is asked to assist with supervising the lunch/recess period at least four times throughout the school year.  Parents with younger children are welcome to bring them along.

Please complete the attached form.  List any special requests you may have.  You will be notified when you are on the calendar for the upcoming month.  Additional details will be included at that time, e.g., specific instructions, finding a replacement, etc.  Thank you in advance for your time and commitment.
