THIS SUNDAY IN WORSHIP
June 25, 2017
Second Sunday After Pentecost

Sermon:  Rev. LeeAnn Inman
Open Doors: "Creative Hospitality"

Scripture:
 Genesis 18:1-15 (The Message)

Hospitality is a creative act. We may enjoy cooking for others and decorating the house for a party. Our creative efforts are designed for connection: to facilitate conversation and the building of relationships.  Hospitality toward God is extended when we offer it to the men, women, and children in the midst of us.  Extending ourselves to the stranger involves risk and vulnerability; however, God extends hospitality to us by stopping by, caring about our lives, and understanding our desires. This is divine favor; it is divine choice, divine creative agency that shows up at our door, in our sanctuary and brings life-giving love. And our willingness to open our doors and the doors of our hearts invites a relationship that will surprise us.

Peace Blood Drive - July 16
Blood is essential for life.  It carries oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, fights infection and helps to heal wounds.  Everyone has this self-generating resource that can be generously given to others-when and where it's needed most.  Our next Peace Blood Drive is on Sunday, July 16th from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Don't wait for a tragedy to donate blood.  Cancer patients, trauma patients, premature babies and sickle cell patients need blood every day! Please eat a good breakfast, bring a photo ID and come prepared to give!
