Dear MLEPC Members and Friends,

Greetings in the Name of the Lord!

It is a blessing to be with you all at MLEPC! You have given me such a warm welcome, and I am looking forward to getting to know each of you better. This church has a rich tradition of faithfulness, and I know God has good plans for the future as we seek to love and serve this community together.

As most of you heard on Sunday, we just kicked off a sermon series on the Lord's Prayer. How many times have you prayed it in your lifetime? It is easy for us to forget just how profound each line is. This past week, we spent time with our Abba, Father, and the relationship that the Lord longs to have with each of us. This Sunday, June 25, we will consider what it means to say "Hallowed be Thy Name." Our Abba Father is also the God of the Universe, more holy and magnificent than our brains can even comprehend. For a sneak peek on the sermon, take a look at Isaiah 6:1-8 and see how Isaiah responded when he first experienced the awesome power of our Holy God.

Guess what!! IT's VBS WEEK!!! Get ready for the Galactic Starveyors adventure that Ashley and all the team have been working so hard to put together. As of yesterday, we already had 220 children signed up, so we will definitely have a packed house all week! We will take walk-in registrations on Monday, so think about neighbors or friends who might have children you could invite! Many many thanks to all who have volunteered to help. And whether or not you are able to join us, please be praying for the children, staff, and volunteers. A few specific prayer requests:
*    Pray that God will draw just the right children to
     participate.
*    Pray for the health and safety of all involved.
*    Pray that the children would hear and respond to the
     Good News of Jesus Christ!

One more request - are you busy Friday afternoon? We are still looking for volunteers to help us take down the VBS decorations before a wedding Friday evening. If you can join us about 12:30-4 p.m., that would be a big help! Send Ashley Gardner an email if you are interested - [email protected].

Two other reminders:
*    We are having a brief congregational meeting on
Sunday at 10 a.m. to elect elders, deacons, and
trustees. All members are encouraged to participate.
And if you come for that, then you can join us for...
*    Ice Cream! After the congregational meeting, please
join us on the lawn in front of the church for frozen
treats, lemonade, fellowship, and a chance for me to
meet you all! It is a joy to be able to serve as your
Transitional Pastor during this season, and I look
forward to speaking with each of you.

Thank you again for welcoming me into the MLEPC family! May God bless you and fill you with His joy and peace this week.
