The Row by Row Experience, an international shop hop, has kicked off the summer season and we are having a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new ones. At the same time, we are gearing up for our local shop hop this November, Quilters' Quest. We are already working on quilts and cutting fabric. And don't forget, we have two buses from the Studio to chauffeur you from shop to shop.

For the first time in many years my grandchildren (and their parents) are visiting in the summer instead of the fall or winter. With so much do do outside, this leaves little time for indoor projects. One of the favorite activities has been visiting the garden each evening to see what we can find for dinner.

In this month's newsletter, we have news of new fabrics, quilts, gifts and more. And don't forget to scroll down to the bottom for the link to the next clue in our Moroccan Mystery quilt.
Shirley and Nayla are working their way through clue #5 of the BOM.
Amber Waves - New Fabric Collection
Amber Waves is my latest collection and gets its name from the waving fields of grain referred to in the song, "America, the Beautiful." You can almost see the movement in this collection of 24 blenders, 16 of them brand new colors, ranging from fresh brights to soft neutrals.

Amber Waves is an extension of a print in the Casablanca collection and pairs nicely with a range of fabrics.

The fabric is available by the yard and bundles. Due to the endless possibilities with this fabric - backing for small projects like Row by Row, handbags and accessories - we are offering our bundles in fat quarters, half-yards, or full yards. The choice is yours.  Click here for details.

Amber Waves Quilt
Amber Waves shown in the wall/lap size.
A simple shape, a 60° triangle, combined with the clever shading of fabrics, is all it takes to make this energetic new quilt designed by Barbara Hollinger and featuring my Amber Waves fabrics.

The quilt is available in two sizes, wall/lap and twin, and comes in two colorways, twilight and autumn.

Gary White's New Mini Cutting Boards
10 different designs available
For years, we have carried Gary White's custom-made, all hardwood cutting boards at the Studio. They are fabulous for entertaining at home and make wonderful hostess and birthday gifts.

Gary, a master craftsman in Oklahoma, uses maple, ash, oak, cherry, walnut and other woods, and inlays in his work creating unbelievably detailed accent designs. He has now added 10 new mini cutting boards for us including one featuring our "row" for the Row by Row shop hop.

The mini boards measure 4" x 6" and are completely food safe. They are finished with vegetable oil (no peanut oil!) and are perfect for a small snack.

You can see our entire selection Gary White cutting boards here.

Row by Row with Rows for Juniors
By now you know how the Row by Row Experience works. Just visit any of the participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt.

Now this year, kids can play too! When traveling with an adult, children, ages 6-14, can receive a free row pattern in any participating Row by Row Junior store. The patterns are designed and written just for kids. Click here to read all about this fun new program.

Our row patterns are only available to those who stop by the Studio (and online starting in November!) but our license plates and pins are now available on our website.  Click here for more information.

Moroccan Mystery Quilt Tip - Joining Three Points
This month, you will be joining three points, a 4-patch with two triangles. As you cut your triangles, make sure that the long side each of triangle is cut on the straight of grain.

When sewing together the three points, it is important to achieve nice, sharp points. This is done by carefully marking seam intersections and with accurate stitching. I mark the intersections with my Perfect Piecer  . If you haven't tried one, here is a link to a video tip and a downloadable three-page guide.

Moroccan Mystery - Clue 6
We are hoping that even those of you who are not appliqué lovers at least enjoyed trying something new last month. This month, it is back to traditional piecing and joining three points.

This is a free program available just to our newsletter subscribers. Each newsletter will have a link to a new clue plus you will have access to all past clues.

[Download link available in subscriber e-mail only]

Please note: this clue has two pages.
