The risks are escalating as hackers penetrate property transactions, swiping people's life savings from under the radar.

These funds are often never recovered.





REALTOR® magazine shares a great, short, article about cybercrime with some tips on how you can defend yourself and your clients from falling victim to it.

What Happened to the WR Building?

Now you see it, now you don't.

The Washington REALTORS ® building at 14th Avenue Southeast and Jefferson Street Southeast in Olympia was there before the Independence Day holiday and gone when people returned to work this week.

It was demolished (photo above) to make way for a new building.

The Voice for Real Estate

 
 
 
The latest Voice for Real Estate news video from NAR looks at progress on flood insurance re-authorization.

The video also covers a recent change by credit reporting agencies to reduce common errors, a move which is expected to increase credit scores for 12 million consumers.

It also looks at NAR's incoming CEO, Bob Goldberg, a long-tome NAR senior executive who oversees marketing and business development, among other things.

Goldberg will replace retiring CEO Dale Stinton.

Real Estate Commission Opening




Are you looking to engage the public and play a role in the ever-evolving real estate industry?
 
The Governor's Office is seeking applicants to serve a six-year term as a member of the Washington Real Estate Commission. 
 
The Commission is composed of seven members: two members from Eastern Washington, two members from Western Washington, two members at large, and one ex-officio chair. 

The currently open appointment is "at-large." 

The Commission meets quarterly and develops advice to guide the Department of Licensing as it carries out provisions of Washington Real Estate Licensing Law and Rules. 

Commissioners are paid up to $50 a day for their service, and are reimbursed for certain travel expenses when conducting commission business.

The local organization is looking for 2-3 acres of buildable land, or a building that can be modified or expanded, to accommodate 27,000 square feet.

Location must be at or near a bus stop. Preference is to stay between 10th Avenue to the South, Freya Street to the East, Government Way to the West, and Wellesley Avenue to the North.
