TAKE ACTION  
Tomorrow is an Ozone Alert Day.
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) has declared tomorrow, Friday, July 7, 2017an Ozone Alert Day. 
 
The declaration is based on data from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. ODEQ projects that tomorrow's conditions in Central Oklahoma will be favorable to the formation of ground-level ozone air pollution. 
 
THIS IS THE SECOND OZONE ALERT DAY OF 2017.
 
The primary component of smog, ground-level ozone, is a health risk to the general populace of Central Oklahoma, but especially dangerous to:  

   * Children

   * The Elderly

   * Individuals with Respiratory Illnesses

   * Individuals with Cardiovascular Illnesses  

   * Individuals with Asthma, Diabetes and Emphysema

 

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

   * Reduce automobile engine run time

   * Delay mowing and outdoor burning

 











Children, the elderly and individuals with asthma are especially at risk with ground-level ozone.
