Our Vision Statement
Old North Church is an inclusive Christian Community called to bring to life God's love and grace by sharing the gospel for this time and place; extending the hospitality Christ showed; embodying God's love and compassion to those in need; and growing together in our understanding and experience of the Holy Spirit at work in our midst.

 Friday Nights at Crocker Park

Join Us Friday Night at 5:45!

Last summer we had a great time gathering at Crocker Park with bring-your-own picnics, games and good fun.   This year, we are going to gather again on Friday nights.  Bring your blanket, shades, and let's enjoy the view together. We will start to gather around 5:45-ish on the following Friday nights:
June 23    August 18    July 21   September 15

Lighthouse Services Begin June 25th!
Beginning this week, the 8am worship service will be held at the Marblehead Lighthouse, at Chandler Hovey Park.  In the event of rain, the service will be held in the Sanctuary.  The 10am service will continue to be held in the Sanctuary through Labor Day weekend.

Children's Church Summer Message
Summer is here and I want to wish you time for fun in the sun, time for rest and renewal, time at the beach and on the water, time to delight and soak in the beauty of this blessed time of year.

I hope to see many of you at Crocker Park on Friday evenings for relaxed time, for chatting and getting to know many of you better and to hear your hopes and wishes for your children.

Registration for Vacation Bible School during the week of August 21-25 is open. Please contact me for a registration form at [email protected]. We have planned a week of stories and creativity and fun with old and new friends.

Blessings and summer joy to you all!    -Karen
Career Transitions Now Meets on Thursdays at Noon
During the summer the Career Transition Group meets weekly on Thursdays from 12 to 1 pm in the Beals Room at the 8 Stacey Street office.  Anyone in job transition (whether re-entering the workforce, seeking employment after a layoff or just looking for a different job) is welcome to attend.  Participants will share job search strategies, network, work on resumes, enjoy spiritual support and more.  Bring your lunch and drop in every week or whenever you can.  There is no cost to participate.  We look forward to serving those who need support while looking for work.  For more information email Michael Perez, [email protected].
Old North Church Men's Group Makes History Again!
Chefs David Kay and Kevin Hayden

Over a hundred people gathered on the church parking lot following the 10 am service on Father's Day to enjoy a pig roast marking the end of the program year. Coordinated by chefs Kevin Hayden and David Kay, the event was hosted by the Men's Group, which meets for breakfast on the last Friday of every month and gathers to brew beer when the spirit moves them. While whole roasted pork, macaroni & cheese, baked beans, coleslaw and watermelon may not sound like typical fare for a church picnic in coastal New England, our honorary church historian, Wayne Butler, informs us this was not the first pig roast in the neighborhood. On his daily stroll up to Fort Sewall on Sunday, Wayne stopped by to tell us that back in 1861, Knott Martin, then commander of Marblehead's Militia, was roasting a pig behind his house on Franklin Street when a telegraph courier arrived with a dispatch from Washington, D.C. The message: President Abraham Lincoln had declared war on the Confederate States. Upon learning the news, Knott Martin left his culinary task, mustered the militia and marched straightaway to Boston - the "first in '61" according to our local anthem "Marblehead Forever." Fortunately, this year's pig roast ended on a peaceful note, and a generous donation of delicious food was transported to the guests at Lifebridge in Salem. Thanks to everyone who pitched in and all who attended. The food was fabulous and the fellowship divine!
