Mason and Major Wanted to be Home With Their Mother

Mason and Major, 12 and 9, were removed from home after police found them home alone in the middle of the night with a pound of marijuana on the coffee table. But in foster care, all they talked about was going home.

Dallas CASA volunteer Holly wondered if the boys really could go home. Read more at Dallas CASA's  blog.
Dallas CASA's Parade of Playhouses is Here

Dallas CASA's signature awareness and fundraising event, Parade of Playhouses, opened at NorthPark Center on Friday. With 11 custom-designed playhouses donated by local builders, architects and corporations, this year's event promises to bring increased focus to the plight of abused and neglected children in our own community.

Moody Foundation Awards
$2 Million Grant to Dallas CASA

Dallas CASA has received a $2 million grant from The Moody Foundation. The grant will endow two volunteer supervisor positions allowing Dallas CASA to expand and serve more vulnerable children. Dallas CASA's 50 volunteer supervisors are experienced child advocates who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and education to guide, advise and support volunteer advocates as they serve children in need. One staff supervisor can manage up to 30 volunteer advocates. The grant allows Dallas CASA to hire an additional volunteer supervisor in 2017 and again in 2018, meaning by the end of 2018 Dallas CASA would have the capacity to serve as many as 140 more children annually for years to come.

We gratefully look forward to welcoming two more volunteer supervisors into our growing organization because of The Moody Foundation.
Dallas CASA's own Jackie Davis Tells His Story

Have you met Dallas CASA supervisor Jackie Davis yet? He's one of our newest volunteer supervisors. As a child, Jackie spent time in foster care. His Dallas CASA volunteer Marlys Rizos became a close friend and ally as he cycled between 14 different foster homes. Sadly, Mrs. Rizos died on May 25, and Jackie recently shared on Dallas CASA's blog some thoughts on the loss and the difference she made in his life.

Please join Dallas CASA to hear Jackie tell his story at the  Champion of Children Award Dinner Nov. 16 at The Fairmont Dallas. The evening will honor the Junior League of Dallas with the Judge Barefoot Sanders Champion of Children Award.  Event co-chairs are Priscilla and Corey Anthony and Laura and John Losinger. Our honorary chair is Christie Carter. To learn more about underwriting the event, please contact Michelle Stephenson .
Thank you to NorthPark Center

At last year's Champion of Children Award Dinner, co-owner of honoree NorthPark Center Nancy Nasher announced that NorthPark would once again gift to Dallas CASA its prime location billboard at Walnut Hill Lane and Central Expressway for the month of June. During its Fifty Years of Giving anniversary celebration in 2015, NorthPark donated multiple billboard spaces to Dallas CASA to help recruit additional volunteer advocates. The billboards were extremely successful in helping raise awareness of CASA's need for more volunteers. We are very grateful to the NorthPark team  for its continued support of Dallas CASA and the children we serve.
