KINGSTON-Wayne Winkler, President/CEO of Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV), has been awarded the 2017 Outstanding Professional by the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA). The Outstanding Professional Award honors professionals who have a true passion for credit unions and who inspire others with their hard work, dedication and success. Winkler was presented with the award at the annual NYCUA Convention held in Bolton Landing, NY.

The 2017 Outstanding Professional Award was given to Wayne Winkler for guiding MHV to a successful year in 2016, overcoming challenges and achieving unsurpassed growth along the way. Under Winkler's leadership, MHV welcomed nearly 13,000 new members through two successful mergers, and he helped the credit union reach record highs in lending by offering members affordable home, auto and commercial financing.
Winkler also led the credit union through a digital transformation that has helped spike a 25 percent increase in online enrollment. MHV also opened a new, state-of-the-art branch in Fishkill. This new branch offers members the use of teller pods, a tablet bar and personal teller machines with extended hours from 6:00am to 11:00pm, daily.
Winkler has 37 years working in the banking industry and earned the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation in 1994 from Credit Union Executive Society (CUES). He joined MHV in 1990 and was appointed to CEO in 2012.
