Nominate Your PATH Intl. Membership Oversight Committee Representative!

PATH Intl. is seeking Membership Oversight Committee Region Representative Nominations. The PATH Intl. annual nomination process for region representatives is underway. This year nominations are being accepted for odd-numbered regions: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. That includes YOUR Region!
PATH Intl. Region Representatives serve as ambassadors for the association and as the voice of their region's members. Responsibilities may include recruiting, retaining and recognizing members; collaborating with groups within and outside of PATH Intl. that can positively impact the success of PATH Intl. members; leading PATH Intl. recognition of center and individual members and participants; and helping coordinate states, regions and PATH Intl. communities into effective networking systems.

Fill out the form, save it then email it as an attachment to Kandis Branum. Nominations are due to the PATH Intl. office by July 15. If you prefer, you may print the nomination form, fill it in by hand and mail it to the PATH Intl. office. All handwritten nomination forms must be received at the PATH Intl. office by July 15 in order for the nomination to be considered.

Therapeutic Riding of Tuscaloosa is pleased to announce the formation of a community partnership with the Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Medical Center. They will soon be using a standardized treatment protocol developed by Dr. Tracy Wharton, Dr. Forrest Scogin and Dr. Marguerite Malone to incorporate horses into the Veterans Administration official PTSD treatment program. This highly researched and proven protocol is designed to be administered by trained and licensed mental health professionals. The center is pleased to provide specially trained horses and support staff for this important program.

Congratulations to Inspire Equine Therapy Program in Clearwater and McCormick Research Institute of St. Cloud for placing third and fourth in the Lexlin Gypsy Gift Contest. Both centers will be receiving a Lexlin Gypsy Vanner horse to add to their EAAT herd. Congratulations both Florida PATH Intl. centers!

Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society recognized
Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center for its work in the local community. The center was presented with the President's Award on May 11 at the Society's Night of Champions. Faith Equestrian now serves approximately 100 students including five schools in Effingham County.
More than 30 Special Olympics riders from three centers competed in a show at Pegasus Riding Academy in Savannah, GA. More than 300 spectators attended and the event was included in the local paper and TV broadcast.
