SBA ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE

Rockwell begins our SBA assessments this week in grades 3, 4, and 5. No extra preparation is required for the SBA, but you can help your child be their best by making sure they are at school ON TIME and with a healthy breakfast in their tummies, well-rested from a good night's sleep. We try to keep stress to a minimum as we know some kids worry about these tests; please help them realize that while we do want them to try hard, SBA is also just one indicator of student success. We, like you, want to help grow healthy, well-rounded, kind, academically prepared people for the years ahead.

Testing dates are as follows:
May 15: Grade 3 ELA Computer Adaptive Task
May 16: Grades 4 and 5 Math Computer Adaptive Task
May 17: Grades 4 and 5 Math Performance Task
May 18: Grade 3 ELA Performance Task 1
May 19: Grade 3 ELA Performance Task 2
May 22: Grade 3 Math  Computer Adaptive Task

SCHOOLPOOL IS BACK!

We've had a great start to our SchoolPool Month! Wednesday Morning was our official "kick off". All students had the opportunity to collect a blue reflector flashlight for their backpacks (if your student missed out, stop by the office to pick one up).

A BIG Thank You to the wonderful Volunteers (Angie Ballas, Lara Lockwood, Kristina Laves, Barbara Chinn, and Loli Vanderlip) who were on hand to cheer on our students and pass out give-a-ways!!!

Don't forget to complete the back side of the calendar completely AND sign your students calendars weekly if they are walking, biking, carpooling, or taking the bus to school. Once the calendar is all signed (at least 1 week), send it back to school with your child.  Each calendar turned in with earn $10 for Rockwell Elementary!

Thank you all for participating!

fieldVOLUNTEERS NEEDED: FIELD DAY
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14

Many parent/guardian volunteers are needed for this special school activity. We need your help!

Event Hosts  will receive all materials needed to set up and manage one field event station with student volunteers. Hosts will offer students encouragement and praise for their participation, and assist with station clean up. Host check-in will be at 8:30 a.m. in front of the school. Younger siblings are welcome to accompany hosts, just let us know so that we can help you select an appropriate station. All hosts are required to have a current background check on file with LWSD, and so when responding to volunteer, please note if you need a form. Also, let us know if you would like to be paired at your event station with an English-speaking volunteer.

Water Balloon Fillers   will receive 30 small balloons and nozzle via Kid Mail the week prior to field day, and will need to return the filled balloons to school with your child in the morning on Wednesday, June 14 . Drop containers will be located in front of the school.

Contact us with questions. Thank you!
