Worship with Us this Week!
Join us this Sunday morning for Traditional Worship at 9:30am and/or Informal Worship at 11am when our scriptures will be Psalm 145:8-14 and Romans 7: 15-25a with a sermon entitled The Struggle Within. We know what is right and wring from scripture, literature, world history, our conscience and the movements of the Holy Spirit - yet it can be hard to say and do the right things. Fortunately for us, God does not leave us alone but abounds in steadfast love and shares compassion with us each day and night.

Strengthen the Church (STC), one of our UCC offerings, will be received this Sunday...
STC reimagines and builds the future of our UCC. Shared equally at the conference and national levels, STC largely supports youth ministries and full-time leaders for new churches in parts of the country where the UCC voice has not been heard.

As God calls our congregations to be the church in new ways, your generosity will plant new churches, awaken new ideas and vitality in existing churches and develop the spiritual life in our youth and young adults.

Reminder: Next Sunday, July 16th is our final Traditional Worship service with Barb Raedeke leading our music. She is leaving us after 15 years of important ministry. We wish her Godspeed as she downshifts to work fewer hours at her home church in St Louis Hills and spend more time with her recently retired husband!

Benefit Concert July 8
Hello friends and family!  I have a special performance to announce.  I'd like to invite you all to Parkway United Church of Christ on July 8 at 7pm to hear a benefit concert for the local food pantry  Circle of Concern, performed by my  jazz quintet.

Aaron Brown, Guitar | Steven Johnson, Saxophone | Ellie Pruneae, Piano
Christopher Meschede, Bass | Nathan Rauscher, Drum

Circle of Concern is a food-pantry-plus in West County that helps provide food for thousands of low income clients every month.  They also offer financial aid and scholarship programs for students, and even holiday programs for Thanksgiving feasts and birthdays for children who might not be able to celebrate them.  When I visited their facility on June 15, I was amazed by all of the different needs the organization addresses in their programs.

A minimum $15 donation to proceeds is recommended, and non-perishable food donations are encouraged.

The concert will be held in the Parkway UCC Sanctuary, 2841 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO 63131, with refreshments being provided in the Gathering Space.

I'm personally very excited to be working with Circle of Concern on this one, and I hope you all can join me and my musicians in the spirit of giving.  Thank you for your continued support!~Nathan Rauscher

Young PUCCer Josie Duke is Annie in theOverdue Theatre Company's presentation of 'Annie' at the Olivet Community Center the last weekend of July and the first weekend of August!

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow."

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical and an ideal show for a largely female cast. We hope to see you there!

You can buy tickets at the door or through Brown Paper Tickets. Ticket purchasers have the option to get tickets at will call or print them at home.
