The KC Originals are proud to welcome not only a new Executive Chef to our family of locally owned, independent restaurants, but also one of Kansas City's iconic and well known Plaza venues, The Classic Cup. Since 1977 this cafe that faces the Plaza's main drag on 47th St. has been serving up incredible dining experiences that reflect its award winning cuisine as well as the casually elegant cachet of its locale.  Under the new ownership of Dan McCall and Nathan Stamps who launched District Pour House in Waldo in 2015, we are confident that The Cup, as it is affectionately know, will continue to be a staple choice of Plaza diners.

FISH:
4 Trout (12-14 oz. ea.)* ~ Cleaned, deboned, heads removed, and butterflied.
* Brook, rainbow, ruby... they all work well. Other flaky freshwater fish like walleye, perch or even small mouth bass work equally well.
1 c. fine Cornmeal
1 c. Cornstarch
Salt & Pepper, to taste

SLAW:
1 c. Kale, finely shredded
1 c. Napa Cabbage, finely shredded
½ c. Red Cabbage, finely shredded
½ c. raw Carrots, finely shredded

The Kansas City Original Gift Card


A single gift card accepted at all of the Kansas City Originals restaurants. The gift card can be purchased  online and over the phone (877-229-7299) and you choose the amount of your card (between $25 and $1000). The card can be used multiple times for your own dining, or as a gift. Your gift cards will be mailed via USPS within two (2) business days of receipt of payment.
