Long Beach public health officials recently announced that mosquitoes capable of carrying the Zika virus have been found in North Long Beach. The mosquitoes that carry this virus are small, have black and white colorings and are regarded as more aggressive than other mosquitoes due to the fact that they tend to bite during the daylight hours. The Long Beach Health Department will be at the next PopUp Town Social informing residents about Zika in North Long Beach.
