Readers seem to enjoy our "He Said, She Said" columns and we like writing them, but sometimes the stances that Joanne and I each take on a given topic are so similar that both of us writing about it would be redundant.

Such would have been the case with veganism, where Joanne's piece speaks for me as well. Given that, I have sat this one out and am instead including a blog that I recently wrote in response to feedback we received from a reader.

Politics
Politics are not just about which bubbles each of us fill in on election day. Our positions reflect how we move about the world and what we want not just for ourselves, but for our friends, neighbors, strangers, the generations that will come after us, and of course our patients. Nutrition is political, and our stances regarding the latter are intertwined with how we approach our work. Read More

In the end, everyone has the right to decide what and how they eat. But it is always a good idea to consider the factors that go into these decisions. I believe that anyone considering becoming vegan needs to really weigh out the pros and cons of this decision. Read More
